Previous Owners of a Property dating before 1993

• Although Prior Copies of the Title Register are only available back to 1993, or the date of first registration (whichever is the later) ownership can often be traced through other Land Registry documents.
• The Land Registry take copies of Conveyancing Deeds where they think this would be of benefit to identify the property or the terms under which it is held.
• Deeds that are copied can be identified in the Title Register where they are indicated by "end of paragraph notes such as "copy made".
• These Deeds will provide details of persons having an interest in the property at the time, e.g. vendors, purchasers, mortgagees and others.
• Copies of the Deeds can be obtained with a Conveyancing Deeds search or by selecting this as an optional extra when ordering a Prior Copies search.
